Voted as ‘Best Newcomer’ in the Limelight magazine awards (2011), multi-genre guitarist Dr Zane Banks is a graduate from the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. A virtuoso of both electric and classical guitar, Zane is very active in the contemporary music scene and he has performed at the ISCM World New Music Days (Sydney), the Melbourne International Arts Festival, the ABC’s Classic FM’s New Music Up Late program (featured artist). In 2011, he performed on electric guitar with Ensemble Offspring, Orchestra Victoria and The Australian Ballet Company. He is the founder and Artistic Director of Ensemble Ampere (electric guitar ensemble), co writer/co-founder of Mary Bokey & The Blind Hearts as well also being one of the founding members/composers of country rock bands The Vandemonians and The Morrisons.
