Behind Doors: DOBBY

Hip Hop artist Rhyhan Clapham graduated from the University of NSW with a Bachelor of Music and Indigenous Studies (Hons). He proudly identifies as a Filipino and Aboriginal musician and as a member of the Murrawarri Republic in Brewarrina (NSW). Rhyan was a recipient of the prestigious Peter Sculthorpe Fellowship for composition (2017). He has performed in many events including the BIG SOUND Festival, The Plot Festival, Yabun Festival, 4Elements Hip Hop Festival, UNSW corporate and academic functions, Koori Radio and at numerous NAIDOC celebrations across Australia. As a member of the Sydney based band Jackie Brown Jr. Rhyan has performed at the Wollombi Music Festival as well as the Rabbits Eat Lettuce and Psyfari Festival.

Rhyan is a prolific educator and currently, he conducts Hip Hop and drum workshops in community centres and schools throughout Sydney and rural NSW. He is also an academic tutor in Indigenous Studies at UNSW.
